Richard A. Brown

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, in Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove for Richard A. "Dick" Brown, who died Feb. 17 at age 78.

Mr. Brown was born April 9, 1922, in Bentonville, Ark. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In the 1950s, he moved to Monroe and worked in the logging industry for several years. In 1963 he settled in Forest Grove and in 1968 began working as a laborer for the construction industry out of Local 296 in Portland. In 1980 he moved to Cornelius, where he retired one year later. In 1950, he married Betty White Fitch; she died in 1989.

Survivors include his daughters, Dona McReynolds, Grace Henry, and Mary Crawford; sons, Thomas Fitch, Jack Brown, and Marvin Brown; companion, Guyla Sauers; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Interment is in Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove. Arrangements are by Fuiten Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home.
