COULTER - BATTERSHELL
The marriage of Gene Battershell and Miss Ruth Coulter took place at the parsonage of the First Christian Church at Crawfordsville, Indiana.
At 11 o'clock Dec 29 Rev T J Wilson minister of the church read the single ring ceremony in the presence of immediate relatives. The attendants were Mrs Forest Case sister of the bride and Orville Battershell brother of the groom.
The bride was lovely in torquoise blue crepe with matching accessories and wore a corsage of sweet peas. She is the daughter of Mrs Sarah Love of Indianapolis, Indiana and has a position with Metro Goldwin Mayer Co.
The groom is a son of Mrs and Mrs E H Battershell, he graduated from the Rossville High School in the class of 1926, later attended the University of Illinois and is now a senior in the school of Pharmacy at Indianapolis where he also has a position.
After the wedding, dinner was served at the home of Mr and Mrs John Crays in their honor with the groom's parents, brother and wife as guests.
Guests at the wedding were Mrs Sarah Love, Mr and Mrs Forest Case of Indianapolis, Mrs and Mrs E H Battershell, Mr and Mrs John Crays and Mr and Mrs Orville Battershell.
Mr and Mrs Battershell are receiving their friends at Indianapolis where they will reside.

Gene Battershell, 98, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, and moving from Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2006. Gene was born February 3, 1908, the son of Enis Hayes and Emma Bell Stipp Battershell in Pocahontas, IA. Gene attended the University of Illinois and graduated from the Indianapolis School of Pharmacy, now known as Butler University. He retired in 1973 after a lifetime career as a pharmacist. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth in 1993. Gene is survived by one son, Jay Battershell and wife, Chris of Corrales, NM; three daughters, Rondee Battershell of Sacramento, CA, Sally Swanson and husband, Dave of Albuquerque, and Julie Askins and husband, Jim of Pagosa Springs, CO; four grandsons, Peter, Paul, Derek, and Jarrod Battershell; and four great-grandchildren. Private Services were held at the Rose Garden in Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque.
