Albina Elsie Schmidt was born on December 14, 1908 at Blue Hill, Nebraska., to John and Anna Lukas. She departed this life on October 18, 1972, at Webster County Hospital in Red Cloud, Nebraska, at the age of 63 years, 10 months, and 4 days.
In early childhood she and her family moved to Colorado, where they lived for five years then returned to Nebraska where she spent the remainder of her life.
Albina was united in marriage to Frank H. Schmidt on February 28, 1933. To this union were born one son, who died in infancy, and two daughters. She lived with her husband and family in Blue Hill and Rosemont community until the Fall of 1971 when they retired to Red Cloud, Nebraska.
She was baptized in the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Blue Hill. Left to mourn her passing are her husband Frank; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Cook, Sr. of Wood River and Mrs. Jerry Lembke of Fremont, Nebraska, and two grandsons. Also surviving are five brothers, Frank of Blue Hill; Adolph and John of Red Cloud; Stein of Glenvil and Joseph of Portland, Oregon; and four sisters, Mrs. Hugo Pruess, Sr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bennett of Brighton, Colorado; Mrs. Frank Cech of Longmont, Colorado; and Mrs. Rosie Baker of Red Cloud.
Services were held October 21 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. J. M. Strong officiating. Miss Patricia Krueger was organist. Pallbearers were Charles and Larry Lukas, Roy Wibben, William Kile, Wilden Turner and Wayne Meents. Interment was in the Oak Creek Cemetery at Blue Hill. The Merten-Butler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
