Mr. Mack Hagin, age 84, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. Mr. Hagin was born in Bulloch County September 14, 1925, to the late George C. and Mamie McDaniel Hagin. He was a graduate of Marvin Pittman School and the University of Georgia, a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre, and was a Purple Heart recipient. Mr. Hagin was a longtime member of Lanier Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of Deacons. He was a retired farmer and rural mail carrier. He was predeceased by his brothers, G.C. and Robin Hagin.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marian Stubbs Hagin of Lanier; two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Susan Hagin of Pembroke and Mack and Sandy Hagin of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and John Carter of Jesup and Vicki and Mikell Foxworth of Lanier; one sister, Margaret Hagin Prosser of Bulloch County; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
