Gladys Ghostley, 87, of Los Angeles, Calif., and formerly of Siloam Springs, Ark., died
June 21, 2009.

She was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Anoka, Minn., to Harry and Edna Rooney Ghostley.

She graduated from Henryetta High School in Henryetta, Okla., in 1940. She later moved to Greenwich Village in New York City and worked as a researcher in the Political Science Department at Columbia University where she remained for 20 years.

She remained in New York City until 2006 when she relocated to Studio City, Calif., to be closer to her sister, Alice - an actress who starred in TV's "Bewitched" and "Designing Women."

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Alice Ghostley.

Interment alongside her parents in Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.
