Born Oct. 29, 1927, in Chillicothe to Arthur and Mary Donath Bornsheuer, he married Carol A. Bennett on Oct. 6, 1950, in LaPrairie. She died Jan. 5, 1994. He later married Mary Lu Keene on Sept. 2, 1995, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Michael E. of Dunlap; two daughters, Debra Kay Deyo of Chillicothe and Mrs. Robert (Julia) Farquharson of Peoria; five grandchildren; one brother, Glenn of Chillicothe; and one sister, Mrs. Ted (Mary Lee) Bliss of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
He worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years, retiring in 1971. A charter member of Arrowhead Country Club in rural Chillicothe, he was the manager of the club from 1971 to 1985. A World War II Navy veteran, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4999 and served as post commander from 1990 to 1991. He was a member of Chillicothe First United Methodist Church, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ray Harrison will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded.
