Enid, OK — The graveside service for Erma Pauline Barnes Bagestos Hendricks, 96, of Alva, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Alva Municipal Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Pingelton will officiate. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.

She was born May 1, 1913, on a farm southwest of Alva to Hi H. and Mary Catherine Slinkard Barnes and died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at Share Convalescent, Alva.

She attended Liberty School District 9 and Northwestern State Teachers College. She was a certified dental assistant most of her life. She was a member of Christian Women's Fellowship, taught Sunday school and was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She married Everett A. Bagenstos April 14, 1935. They lived in Clovis, N.M., Albuquerque, Amarillo, Texas, San Angelo, Texas, Dodge City, Kan., Waynoka and Wellington, Kan. He died Oct. 22, 1971.

She married Tom G. Hendricks Oct. 27, 1983. They lived in Wakita, later moving to Alva. He died Nov. 24, 1991.

Surviving is one sister, Elizabeth Moore of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

In addition to both husbands, Everett and Tom, she was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Christian Church.
