Mildred Ar-line Sassmann, 74, of Owensville died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Mildred was born in Bland on Dec. 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Alfred Henry and Esther Amelia (Lange) Gerloff. She was a member of the Woollam Methodist Church where she had been a past board member and currently had been serving as treasurer of New Woollam Zoar Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Delmar Sassmann and Dennis Sassmann; grandson, Tyler Peth and great-grandson Jacob Harness.
Her survivors include her husband, Carl; daughter, Denise Peth and husband Rick of Owensville; daughter-in-law, Cathy Sullivan and husband Jim of Owensville; brother, Charles Gerloff and wife Rena of Bland; sister, Katherine Attrep and husband Moses of Los Alamos, N.M.; three grandchildren, Amber Harness and husband Justin, Cody Sassmann and wife Erin and Scott Peth; and one great-grandchild, Payton Harness.
Funeral services will be held, today, Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor Jackie Asher officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Woollam Zoar Cemetery in Woollam.
