James Roscoe Steele - age 76 of 150 Cold Creek Rd., Madisonville, son of the late Verbal & Annie Mae Steele, passed away 2:45 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Parkwest Medical Center.
Member of Hopewell Springs Baptist Church. Veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Army. Retired from Vestal Mfg. Company.
Survivors: wife of 52 years, Kay Lankford Steele; daughter, Penny Linn Huskey; son-in-law Thomas Herington; grandchildren, James Byron Herington & wife Amy, Thomas Elijah Herington, Mariah Chestine Herington, Noah Christopher Huskey, all of Jonesborough; sisters, Ruth Watson, Vina Sue Kirkland, Sandra Mae Boone, all of Madisonville; Ruby Crawford, Noblesville Ind., brothers, Tom & Bobby Steele both of Madisonville; several nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by daughters Robin Elaine Steele & Donna Herington; brother, Ross Steele.
Funeral 8:00 P.M. Sunday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Doug Alexander, Rev. Chris Farmer officiating.
Interment 11:00 A.M. Monday in Hopewell Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
