Mr. Charles Gaston "C.G." Brock, age 90, of Jackson died Friday, September 18, 2009, as the result of a single car accident in Jackson, MS.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street with Rev. Ty Pigott and Rev. Benjamin Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park Clinton Blvd. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. tonight at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street and one hour prior to service.
Mr. Brock was born on November 30, 1918 in Harrisville, MS. Most of his family knew him as "Cotton". He served in the United States Army during WWII and was the owner of Brock's Beauty Enterprises. He was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church, the North Jackson Civitan Club and volunteered at Baptist Hospital. He enjoyed visiting with his friends at the Kroger Coffee Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ola Rene Brock of Jackson, MS; a son, Charles Ronald "Ron" Brock and his wife, Faye of Hattiesburg, MS; two daughters, Dorothea Brock of Jackson, MS and Camille Brock Smith and her husband, Dr. William R. "Bill" Smith of Jackson, MS; three sisters, Virginia Tadlock of Harrisville, MS, Ruth Ainsworth of Florence, MS and Myrtis Fair of Portsmouth, VA. He also had four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Johnson Brock; and his parents, Wiley Green and Lula Lewis Brock.
