Gladys Irene Cleland, 92, of Lebanon, died Tuesday March 11, 2003, at Breech Regional Medical Center in Lebanon.

She was born Feb. 28, 1911, near Eldridge, to George Thomas Gregory and Nellie Riggins Gregory, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her husbands, Ora Pulley and Guy Cleland; three children, Leona Glee, Faye, and Floyd and four brothers, Curtis, Leonard, Lloyd and Ewin Gregory; three sisters, Gertie Waterman, Joyce Perkins and Cleo Bishop.

On March 23, 1946, she married Guy Cleland.

She was employed in housekeeping at Tan-Tar-A and was of the Babtist faith.

She is survived by two sons, Gene Pulley and Ruth; Harold Cleland and Linda; two daughters, Maxine Lawson and Bennie Johnson and Gene, all of Lebanon; a sister, Georgie Mathena of Eldridge; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Gladys Cleland will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Colonial Chapel with Rick Hill officating. Burial will be in theHuft Cemetery near Eldridge, under the direction of the Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel. A memorial has been established to Hufft Cemetery.
