Sela Custor was the son of Alonza Bloomfield and Margaret Bellinger Custer, the third of eight chldren born to them.
Sela came with his family to Iowa City area and in 1877 they came to Mills County.
Sela Custer married Mariah Christo January 19, 1880, and they homesteaded on a farm one mile north of Silver City a few years after their marriage.
Four children were born to them; Guy Nov. 25, 1880, Lenna (Mrs. William Kisby); Liva born in 1889 (Mrs. Owen Adams); and Reno born July 17, 1894.
