VERNON O. 'VERN' ADAMSON
A funeral service for Vernon O. ''Vern'' Adamson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 1996, in Fuiten-Rose Chapel in Forest Grove. Mr. Adamson died April 29 at age 86.
Mr. Adamson was born Oct. 11, 1909, in Wood River, Neb. He married Belva Mae Lynch in 1928 and worked on railroads in Nebraska and Wyoming and for the Works Progress Administration before moving to Gaston in 1937. He was mayor of Gaston during the 1960s and worked for 23 years for the Stimson Lumber Co. He later owned and operated the Riverside Apartments. He also farmed and worked for the Jones Lumber Co. in South Portland.
Survivors include his sons, Paul L. of Hillsboro, Bernard D. of Jewell, and Richard O. ''Dick'' of Gales Creek; sister, Eppie Lotz of Englewood, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Forest View Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fuiten-Rose Mortuary.
