She was born on December 14, 1924, in Louisa County, to Crewson and Pearl White. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe S. Adams Jr.; two sisters, Phyllis Ann White (infant) and Inez Markwood; and her nephew, Ronald Hanks.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Hanks and her husband, Warren Hanks, of Louisa; nieces, Kathryn L. Markwood of Richmond, Paula Markwood Pippin, her husband, Jim, and their children, Whitney and Logan of Charlottesville; and Bonnie Castricano, her husband, Bob and their children, Chris and Wendy of Wolcott, Connecticut. Also surviving her are her nephew, Stephen Markwood, his wife, Kathy, and their children, Lauren and Andy of Earlysville; a stepdaughter, Patricia Adams Clarke, her husband, Boyd, of Colorado and their children, Graham and Jennifer; and her brother-in-law, William Adams and his wife, Harriet, of Charlottesville.
Juanita was the manager of the Preston Avenue branch of Virginia National Bank until her retirement in 1974, when she and Roscoe moved to Virginia Beach.
Juanita was devoted to her family and she took delight in sharing her home, the beach and shopping trips with her extended family.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Colonnades, especially the Reminiscence Unit and the Hospice of the Piedmont.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911, the , 1160 Pepsi Place Suite, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901, or to a charity of your choice.
