Wiley S. "Buddy" Bankston, 68, a four-year resident of Hillside, died Sept. 23 at Westlake Hospital, Melrose Park.
Mr. Bankston was born in Joliet. He was a 1950 graduate of Joliet Township High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired employee of United Airlines.
He was preceded in death by his mother and three nephews.
Mr. Bankston is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Valarie) Harris of Plano, Texas, Douglas Harris of Chicago and Anthony Harris of Aurora; two daughters, Tamia Glenn of Park Forest and Cynthia Carter-DeVose of Harvey; 13 grandchildren; his father, Wiley O. of Joliet; three sisters, Ruby Bray of Joliet and Lelia (Floyd) Cheatam and Jeanie, both of Milwaukee; an uncle, Haney (Mary Ida) of Joliet; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was at Range Funeral Home, Joliet.
Interment was in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
