Leader Herald Jan. 29, 1968 - FORT PLAIN - H.F. Trumble of Hessville Dies at Age 61;
Funeral services will be held tomorrow in Fort Plain for Horatio F. Trumble, 61, who died Saturday at his home , Fort Plain RD 3, in the Hessville section in the Town of Minden. Mr. Trumble had been in failing health for the last four years. The service will be 3 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, with the Rev. Louis Crandall, pastor of the Ames Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be made in the Ames Cemetery in the spring.
Mr. Trumble was born in Lassellsville, Fulton County, on Sept. 15, 1906, the son of Addison and Elizabeth Weaver Trumble.
Following his marriage to the former Reba Mallette in Cooperstown July 23, 1931, the couple lived in East Springfield until 1951, when they moved to Hessville where he purchased a dairy farm. He operated the farm until four years ago when he retired due to ill health. He was an honorary member of the South Minden Volunteer Fire Department and donated the land on which the Fire Department is located.
In addition to his wife, he it survived by two sons, William Trumble, Ephratah, and Charles Trumble, Nelliston; seven daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Van Alstine, Mrs. Sherman Rockwell, Mrs. Ralph Muehlbeck, all of Hessville; Mrs. Theodore Ripple of Fort Hunter; Mrs. Charles Domionof Springfield Center; Mrs. Lavere Prime of Salt Springville and Mrs. Roland Arid of Alburqurque N.M. Also two brothers Charles and Weaver Trumble, both of Canajoharie ; four sisters Mrs. Florence Buddle of Fort Plain, Mrs. Mabel Voorman , Palatine Bridge, Mrs. Sarah Cool , Johnstown; Mrs. Lucinda Searies, East Springfield, 25 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
