OBITUARY

Tremonton, UT – Elna Caroline Carlson Ashcraft, 97, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Bear River Valley Care Center.

She was born January 19, 1912 in Union, Salt Lake, Utah to Carl Gustave and Emma Anderson Carlson. She graduated from Jordan High School. She served a mission to the North Central States. She attended business school. She married S. Ray Ashcraft, June 9, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Elna taught and was chorister in the Primary for many years. She was a devoted wife and mother. In her later years, she thoroughly enjoyed being a volunteer at Garland Elementary School, listening to 1st grade students read.

Surviving are her children: Carolyn (Boyd) Fullmer, Charles (Marion) Ashcraft and Lynn (Sharon) Ashcraft; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, David Petersen and two sisters: Ruth Nix and Utahna Timothy.

A funeral service will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 11:00 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Family and friends may call Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
