Frieda Langston Cartwright, 87, entered into rest on September 4, 2009 in Mountain View, Arkansas. Frieda was born March 3, 1922 in Pineville, Arkansas to Homer and Dove Thrasher Langston.

Frieda attended Arkansas College and later taught school at Wild Cherry and Gosby. In 1945 she married Cecil Cartwright. She and Cecil owned and operated Kentucky Fried Chicken in Batesville and in later years, they owned and operated Kentucky Fried Chicken in Mountain View. She was a member of the Byron Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Salem. She loved to read and write poetry.

Frieda is survived by her son Michael Cartwright and his wife Nancy of Earle; daughter Terri Coleman and her husband Bobby of Mountain View; three grandchildren, Scott and Stephanie Coleman of Fayetteville and Jennifer and her husband Chris Alejo of Memphis, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Dove Langston, her husband Cecil Cartwright, and a sister, Ann Johnson.

A graveside service will be held on at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 7, 2009 at Egner Cemetery at Salado with her son-in-law, Rev. Bobby Coleman, officiating. Interment will also be at Egner Cemetery.
