Vera Mae (Watts) Hollon, 95, Mountainair, NM entered eternal rest on Friday, September 11, 2009. She was born February 3, 1914 in Hereford, TX to Everett and Beatrice (Stallings) Watts. The family moved to Mountainair around 1915 where whey homesteaded in the foothills of the Manzano Mountains to raise eight children. She married Lyndall Hollon in Mountainair on November 23, 1932 and lived there together for 64 years. Lyndall and Vera Mae were blessed with four children (Carl, Raymond, Darla and Arlene). She was employed by Shockey Bean Company. She was a member, quilter and volunteer of the Mountainair Senior Citizen Center for many years. Vera Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 64 years (Lyndall), three sisters (Atlea Smith, Baulah Alters and Ruby Siler), four brothers (Elvis, R.C., Jack and T.S.), three brother-in-laws and two sister-in-laws, two grandsons, a granddaughter, a niece and eight nephews. She is survived by her four children two sons, Carl (Carolyn) of Mountainair an Raymond (betty June) of Roswell, and two daughters, Darla (Kent) Flemins of Albuquerque and Arlene (Don) Macaw of Las Cruces, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, three nieces, one nephew, many cousins and friends. There was a viewing on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM from 5:00 to 7:00PM. The service was on Monday, September 14, 2009 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM at 11:00AM with Richard G. Spences Officiating. Pallbearers were Lee Hollon, Brad Hollon, Terrell Macaw, Cheryl McCarthy, Charlotte Treece, Deann Kauffman, Bobbi Sue Pino, Sheirla Porter and Shannon Macaw. Honorary Pallbearers were James Autrey, Delbert Autrey, Leon Autrey, Orvil Watts, Gary Watts, Marty Macaw, Bruce Flemins, Brian Flemins and Herb Paul Childers. Burial took place at the Mountainair Cemetery after the service.
