Mary was born on December 2, 1928 in Springfield, Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Theresa Martin Muise.
She was a retired assembler for the General Electric Company where she was employed for twenty-five years.
Mrs. Poirier is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Balliet and her husband Edward of Stratford, Carol Scharn and her husband Philip of Stratford, three sisters, Mildred Duval of New York, Louise Pryor and her husband Edward of Shelton, Irene Crilley of Hamden, eight grandchildren, Jena, Wendy, Philip, Daniel, Lisa, Jenny, Kristi and her husband Matt and Alex, six great grandchildren, Andrew, Ethan, Ryan, Ashley, Tyler, Elijah and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her son, John, four brothers, Albert (Boyd), Arthur, Lionel, Clifford and two sisters, Norma and Theresa.
The Funeral service was held on September 18, 2009 in Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford and at St. James Church where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated.
Interment followed in St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford on Fairield Avenue.
