John James Baker, Auburn, Alabama and born March 10, 1830, in Sumter County, South Carolina; enlisted in Company "D" of the 45th Alabama Infantry, Confederate States of America, as Private in February, 1863 at Camp Watts, Notasulga, AL, wounded in "Battle of Atlanta" and continued until surrender, April 9, 1865, at Macon, Georgia. On list of captured April 20 and 21, 1865, at Macon, Georgia. Texas Hospital, Auburn, December 31, 1863, through June 30, 1864.
