Residing in Castine, Maine at the time of enlistment. Married to Sabra Ames. Enlisted on March 11, 1864 as a Sergeant in the 31st Maine Infantry, Company D, at the age of 25. Wounded in right arm, amputated, on May 30, 1864 at North Anna River, Virginia. Died of wounds received.
