Services will be held Tuesday for David Dahl,
who passed away peacefully at his home in
Fernbridge, Thursday September 18, 2003, at
the age of 86, surrounded by his family. David
was born December 21, 1916, in Crosby, Kitsap County, Washington, to Daniel and Dedrieka Dahl. He came to Humboldt County and the Carlotta area in 1949 where he continued his career in the Logging industry and was involved in logging until his retirement in 1990.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family, and the many family barbecues.
He is survived by his six children and their spouses,
Boyd and Sharon Dahl of Myrtle Creek, OR, Shelli and
Glenn Johnson of Eureka, CA, Valerie Allen, Audrey Gallagher, David and Araceli Dahl, all of Fernbridge,
and Dawnetta and Mark Cobb of Loleta; and his grandchildren, Cory,Travis,Stacy,Kacie,Nicole,Brandon,Ryan,John,Matt,
Haley,Sarah,Damen,Dustin,Clinton,Nathan, and Bradley.
He is also survived by two sisters, numerous great grand children, and many other relatives as well as his little dog, Benji.
David was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years,Freda, in 2000,his son,Gregory,in 1979;and his son-in-law,Mike Allen,in 2002.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Bonis
and Staff for their excellent care.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at 1:00p.m. at Sunrise Cemetery. David's son, Boyd Dahl, and son-in-law, Mark Cobb, will be speaking.
The family invites friends to the reception immediately following at the Loleta Community Church, 228 Church Street, Loleta.
Arrangements are under the directions of Gable's Chapel Fortuna.
