Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Peniel cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services at Fippinger. He was born June 28, 1920, near Joy, a son of Amos and Delia Attig Allen. He graduated from Joy High School. He married Margery L. Coulter Feb. 15, 1943, in Joy.
He owned the Allen's Grocery Store in Joy. He then farmed south of Aledo in the Sunbeam and Seaton areas for many years, retiring and moving to Cherokee Village, Ark., in 1974. They returned to Aledo in 1988.
He was a member of the Sunbeam United Presbyterian Church and enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Margery; a son, Thomas (Carol Ann) Allen, Rapids City, S.D.; three grandchildren, Thomas, Rapids City, Robert (Erika), Apple Valley, Minn., Michelle (Dan) Schwiesow, Downers Grove, Ill.; and four great-grandchildren, Annika, Dylan, Derrick and Connor. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
