John Alexander & Mary Liza Lafferty Genealogy from Francis Stegall. Aug 2003
-------------------------------------------------
From a her daughter in law: Mama Stegall would have made a second to Carey Nation. She worked at her religious beliefs all her life, and probably would have been a preacher had she been a man. Her oldest daughter Grace was left with a lot of chores and care of the children in order for Mama Stegall to be always working for the Lord. Mama Stegall was a good woman that I have no doubt of, since she lived her last five years with Cass and me in the summers. She was an example of what a perfect mother-in- law should be, I loved her dearly and regretted that the last five years she lay helpless in the Saint Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. --Written by Frances Gaddy Stegall wife of Cass Stegall. 2003
