FRANCIS H. POND DIES OF PNEUMONIA AFTER FLU

Francis H. Pond, the sixteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert G. Pond, died of pneumonia following influenza at midnight Monday. He died at the family home near the napoleon mine. Mr. and Mrs. Pond and family formerly lived in Colville, but have lived the past few years near Napoleon where they own a sawmill. Services were held at the grave in Highland cemetery Wednesday morning, Reverend George Kline officiating. Francis Pond is survived by his parents, two brothers and a sister. The death of this promising young man has cast a shadow on his community, where he was well and favorably known.
