Naomi R. Ellis, 94, of McAlester, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at a local nursing home. Naomi was born on March 4, 1920 in Indianola to R.E. & Zena Selvage. She attended schools and graduated from Crowder High School. She was married to Gordon Ellis on February 21, 1938 in Yuma, Arizona. Along with her husband she moved to Pittsburg County in 1939 and had lived here since then. She was a long time member of The Victory Park Baptist Church of McAlester. Naomi loved going to the Senior Citizens Center in McAlester. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Gordon Ellis, daughter: Ruth Sutton, and brothers: Jay Selvage & Lemon Selvage. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5 at Featherston Cemetery with Rev. Jody Domingue officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
