Mrs. Dorothy Louise Jones of Pleasant Grove Road, Halifax, died Saturday Sept. 12, 2009, at the Woodview Nursing Home. She was born in Halifax County on April 18, 1925, and was 84 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Obey Lee Jones and the late Annie Ruth Burton Jones.
She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church. She graduated from Wilson Memorial High School and worked at Halifax Pharmacy for more than 40 years.
She is survived by two Brothers, Roy W. "Billy" Jones, of Halifax, Charlie Henry Jones and wife, Ann, of Danville; two nieces, Brenda Procanyn and husband, Jerry, of Pennsylvania, Tracy Lynn Byers of Danville; and several close cousins.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Adam Blosser conducting the service. She will be buried at the Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery.
