Thomas Robert Chaney son of George W. and Sarah E. Chaney was born October 7, 1869, in Harrison Co., Missouri. and departed his life October 4, 1941, at his home in Jameson, Missouri. at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 27 days.
He united with the Baptist church (Cat Creek) north west of Brison when a young man of eighteen years where his membership still stands. He was united in marriage to Mary Polena Erickson on October 23, 1894, and to this union eight children were born, They are Omar who predeced him in death, Mrs. Lula E. Royston, Jamesport; Mrs Nora E. Henderson, Pitcher, Okla.,; Mrs. Ella G. Moulin, Gilmas City; Mrs. Verda A. Harding and Mrs. Willa M. Lindsay, Jamesport; Hermon Chaney of the home, and Mrs. Lucille Zeornes of Jameson. These with his loving copmanion morn his passing.
He also leaves fourteen grandchildren, two aged brothers, Albert Chaney and John Chaney of Trenton, Mo., Four son-in-laws and a host of relatives.
His life was one of service and it was his greatest enjoyment to do for others.
He was a devoted husband and father and loved his grandchildren dearly. He endured many afflictions the last year, but bore them with patience and always had a smile. He belived in Christ and His loving teachings. When he was unable to attend church because of sickness he received the gospel message by listening to the radio.
