"O.C." was born in Tolland, CT and moved to Eldridge, Oh, which is now called Berlin Heights, OH. He brought his young bride, Ruth Aborn in 1827 when he was 22 yrs. old. He was the first Tillinghast to locate in Berlin Heights.
He built one of the first log cabins in the area which was just west of the Burnham Farm.
His daughter Emeline Tillinghast Otis
married Frederick R. Otis. His father is Joseph Otis and he is buried in the Baptist Cemetery in Berlin Heights, OH
Emeline and Frederick Otis moved to Chicago after living in the house that Frederick's father Joseph had built which is the present Tillinghast Farm just south of Berlin Heights, OH.
He is my Great Great Great Great Grandfather.
