Andrew C. Andersen

BLACKFOOT — Andrew Christian Andersen, 90, of 372 North Broadway, died at Bingham Memorial Hospital Friday at 1:20 p.m. He had been in the hospital four months.

He was born June 2, 1887 in Moroni, Utah, the son of Andrew C. and Anna M. Sorenson Andersen. His early years were spent in Utah. He came to Idaho about 1912, settling in Shelley.

He married Clara Marie Jensen Dec. 26, 1916. He moved to Blackfoot in 1936 where he farmed in the Thomas and Riverside area until he retired in 1942. Mrs. Andersen died June 9, 1958. He married Amanda A. Clark June 22, 1959, in Blackfoot. He was a high priest in the LDS Church.

He is survived by his widow, Amanda C. Andersen; three sons and six daughters; Mrs. Melvin (Jenave) Wood, Mrs. Alvin (Nina) Mecham, Mrs. Bud (Laura) Morris, Mrs. Ross (Alice) Anderson, Mont A. Anderson, and Ray B. Andersen, all of Blackfoot; Mrs. Seeman (Elala) Bollinger, Colton, Calif.; Mrs. Carlyle (May) Jorgensen, Shelley and Blaine C. Andersen, Twin Falls; two step children, Theron Clark, Shelley, and Mrs. Roscoe Gardner, Blackfoot; 43 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. C.W. Drage, Carey, Idaho.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, from the Blackfoot Eighth Ward LDS Church by Bishop Gareth Ogen. Burial will be in the Goshen cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sandberg Hill Funeral Home.
