"Mrs. Edna R. Giles, 87, a resident of Umatilla, died at Eustis Saturday morning.
"She was born at Columbus, Ga., and had been making Umatilla her home for the past 70 years.
"She was a member of First Baptist Church of Umatilla.
"Survivors include two sons, Zera Douglas Giles of Umatilla and Roger G. Giles of Boone, N.C., and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
"Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Zeller, Kennedy and Hamlin Funeral Home of Eustis with the Rev. Tommy Parker officiating. Interment was at Umatilla Cemetery."
Edna was a member of the Ocklawaha Chapter, Daughters of the Revolution. She was awarded "State Mother for Florida" in 1944. For this award one must embody the traits of courage, moral strength, patience, affection, kindness, understanding and homemaking ability.
