OBITUARY OF FRED MANNEN

Fred MANNEN, prominent Perryton contactor and builder, died shortly before noon, Wednesday, of a heart attack. He suffered a severe heart attack October 09 and after several weeks hospitalization, appeared to be on the way to recovery. He was up and about and had been downtown a number of times during the past few weeks. He arose as usual Wednesday morning and was apparently feeling fine. The end was sudden.

Jacob Fredic MANNEN was born October 31, 1879 in Lincoln county, Kansas. He was married to Miss Myrtle Eline BURT at Beloit, Kansas, June 10, 1908. One child, Helen, was born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. MANNEN moved to Texas in 1926, residing at Spearman for one year before coming to Perryton.

Surviving are the wife and daughter, Miss Helen MANNEN's one brother, Sam MANNEN, Missouri; three sisters: Mrs. Stella VANDIVER, Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. J. H. BURT, Lincoln, Kansas; Mrs. Golden MORRIS, Lincoln, Kansas.

Fred MANNEN was a member of the Perryton Masonic Lodge and the Royal Arch Chapter. His fellow Masons will have charge of the burial. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows and the Modern Woodmen.

While complete funeral arrangements have not been made, it is thought that the services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Friday afternoon. Burial will be in the Ochiltree Cemetery.
