A native of Rockingham County, she was born May 17, 1922, a daughter of the late Robert Leonard and Nina Bobo Kirby. Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of Race Path Baptist Church where she touched many lives through her work with the W.M.U., as YWA leader, Sunday school teacher and church librarian for 40 years.
In addition to her parents, her husband of 63 years, who she was married on Dec. 14, 1940, Thomas Earl Baldwin preceded her in death. Two brothers, Bob Kirby, Torrance Kirby; and two sisters, Retha Kirby and Evelyn Kirby Greene also preceded her in death.
She is survived by son, Thomas "Tommy" Baldwin and wife, Jo Baldwin, of Ellenboro; daughter, Karen Cave of Mooresboro; five grandchildren, Angela Cave Killie, Kent Baldwin, Audra Cave Malone, Mark Cave and Heidi Baldwin Moose; great-grandchildren, Cole Baldwin, Tyler Cave, Preston Cave, Matthew Malone, Brieanna Moose, Mackenzie Malone, Jacob Baldwin and Tommy Moose.
Visitation: The family will receive friends tonight at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home from 7 to 9.
Funeral: Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Race Path Baptist Church
