Trail Drivers of Texas:
In 1878 I went up the trail with the herd for G. W. Littlefield. These cattle were gathered near where Oak Forest is today, and delivered to me on the Lockhart Prairie by W. P. Littlefield, now of New Mexico. We had about 2,000 head. Hess Parks, Jim Cochran, Marcus Dilworth and a fellow named Gay were among those who went with this herd. We delivered on the Platte River in Nebraska. He drove cattle in Texas with the infamous trail driver George Lyons. As mentioned in The Trail Drivers of Texas by George W. Sanders.
