Arva Lee Brown Bertelson of Axtell, Utah, returned to her Heavenly Home on September 10, 2009. She was born in Salina, Utah on April 13, 1936 to Kenneth B and Beatrice Burr Brown of Greenwich, Utah. She married her sweetheart, George William Bertelson, for time and all eternity on January 20, 1956 in the Manti LDS Temple, together they raised seven children until he passed away in 1989.
Arva Lee was a very devoted wife and mother, and she loved her family dearly. She lived to ensure that they were healthy, happy and safe. She cherished the times that they spent together. Arva Lee loved the Gospel and gave much of her time to those in need. She served faithfully in many capacities throughout the years and held positions in the Primary, Young Women's and the Relief Society. Most recently, as her health declined, she served as a visiting teacher by phone. She loved doing this and liked to keep in touch with others. She loved her neighbors and friends and counted them all as family.
She was a beautiful woman with a strong testimony of the Gospel. She lived her life with diligence, courage, strength and faith through her many trials. Now that she has finished her labors on earth, she has returned to the welcoming arms of her husband and family to live with them until we can all be together again. We will miss her, but know that her eternal reward is sweet and well deserved.
The family expresses a special thanks to the physicians and staff of the Gunnison Valley Hospital and Home Health, along with the doctors and staff at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, for their kind and compassionate care. Also, to her many friends for their never ending love and understanding.
Her survivors include her children, Debra and Karl Humphrey of Axtell, Kendall and Linda Bertelson of Aurora, Kreig and Deborah Bertelson of Richfield, Kory and Cheri Bertelson of Saratoga Springs, Nancy and Christopher Goff of Axtell, Kerby and Shelly Bertelson of Aurora, Kurtly and Karen Bertelson of Axtell; 22 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ludean (Larry) Aldrich of Magna and Mabel (Steve) Johnson of Florida.
She is preceded in death by her sweet husband; parents and brother, Earl B. Brown.
