Services for Mrs. Louise Allen Neff, 80, who died at 3 a.m. at her home in Caruthersville January 20th following a lengthy illness, were held at 2 p.m. January 24th. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
She was born May 15th, 1897 in La Cygne, Kan., the daughter of the late Clarence Wesley and Louanna Cortmell Allen.
Mrs. Neff was a graduate of the University of Kansas and did graduate work at the University of Missouri. She taught school in Pratt, Kan., until she came to Missouri and married Dr. Shirley C. Neff October 30th, 1924 in Caruthersville.
Following the death of her husband in 1943, she worked at the Ratoon Office and later as a teacher in the Caruthersville School System, a position she held until 1966 when a stroke forced retirement.
She was a member of the Eastwood Memorial Methodist Church, Chapter G.V. of the P.E.O., and the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include one son, Shirley Allen Neff of Butler, Pa., and two granddaughters, Sandra Jean Guyer of Columbus, Ohio, and Mary Louise Brown of Memphis, Tenn.
Pallbearers were William R. Brown , Red Dunham, Cyril Hendricks, Robert Mehrle, Ralph Clayton, and Joe Parkinson.
