He was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Floyd County and married Oleta Davis. She died in 1990. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer and a miner. He was Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Robert Jr. of Torrington, Wyo.; a daughter, Sandra Blackman of Mackintosh, N.M.; and one grandchild.
