Jimmie Royce Hawkins, 73, of Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 3, 1936 in Anderson County to the late J.C. "June" and Lela Adams
Hawkins. Jimmie was a former warehouse supervisor at Florida Tile for 20 years, a former Police Officer and City Councilman for the City of Lawrenceburg. He was a former member of the Lawrenceburg Jaycee's, a former Little League Baseball Coach, and a member of Van Buren Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Lee Rucker Hawkins; a son Jimmie Lee Hawkins of Lawrenceburg; 5 grandchildren, Cristi Lynn (Todd) Duvall, Jeremy Lee (Kayla Jo) Hawkins, Brandi, Kerry, and Brandon Hawkins, all of Lawrenceburg; 4 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Brianna, Bradi, and Taylor; 3 sisters, Mozelle Colvin of Georgia, June Whitlow of Lexington, Nelda H. (Richard) Keith of Florida; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son Kalen Todd Hawkins; two brothers, Ralph H. Hawkins and Donald Hawkins.
