Northampton - Arhur K Addis, 89, of 32 East Center St., Leeds died at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital Wednesday morning after a short illness. Born in Northampton Nov 18, 1871, the son of Edwin and Elizabeth (Dinner) Addis, he had been a lifelong resident. For many years, he was employed as master mechanic at the Corticelli Silk Company, retiring when the company dissolved. He was a charter member of the Amherst Lodge of Odd Fellows. He leaves two sons, Merrill G of Leeds and Wendell A of Old Deerfield. The funeral will be held at the R D Newell & Sons funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 with an organ prelude at 1.30. Rev Seth Newton, pastor of Florence Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be Spring Grove Cemetery, Florence. Calling hours at the funeral home are this evening from 7 to 9.
