Clyde Spencer Rich, 68, of Bloomingdale died Sundat at Candler General Hospital after a short billness.
The Tattnall County native was the retired operator of a clothing business in Claxton and was past president of the Evans County Singing Association. He was a member of the Chatham County Singing Association, a member of the First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale and of Roger Wood Lodge No. 438, F&AM in Cobbtown. He was also a member emeritus of the Martha Washington Chapter No. 300, Order of the Eastern Star in Claxton.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lilla Bell Rich of Bloomingdale; a daughter, Mrs. Victoria Styles of Richmond Hill; five brothers, the Rev. James E. Rich of Augusta, Carroll and Bernease Rich, both of Cobbtown, Rochelle Rich of Collins and George Rich of Lyons; four sisters, Mrs. Zona Arnsdorff and Mrs. Callie Yeomans, both of Savannah, Mrs. Bertie Page of Cobbtown and Mrs. Hattie Mae Findley of Guyton; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale. Additional funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Collins with burial in the church cemetery.
