Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in this city Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Martha Jane Porter who died at her home near Stubbtown the previous day, after a lengthy illness. The Rev. Floyd V. Brower conducted the rites and interment was in Little Prairie Cemetery with LaForge service. She is survived by her husband, W.R. Porter and daughter, Mrs. John Chamblee, also by several grandchildren. She was 61 years of age.
The family had lived near Savannah, Tenn. before moving to this county several years ago and the funeral was attended by a large number of relatives and friends from there.
