George P. Snider, 53, of Brewster, died Sunday in a Yakima hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Snider was born July 23, 1925, at Omak. He attended schools at Wenatchee and Brewster and was graduated from Brewster High School. Mr. Snider was a veteran of World War III, serving in the Navy from 1943 until 1946. He was married to Freda White, in 1945 at Okanogan. Following their marriage, they made their home at Brewster. For several years, Mr. Snider was active in farming and also an inventor. Among his inventions were a hay bale loader and an orchard tractor.
Mr. Snider was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Colville Confederated Tribes; the American Legion and the Brewster Grange.
Survivors include his wife, Freda, of the home; five daughters, Darcy Sandler, of Seattle; Marilynn Whitehead, of Spokane; Connie Robins, of Wenatchee; Pam and Janet Snider, both of the home; two sons, Joe, of Port Angeles; and George, Jr., of the home, one sister, Ruby Babcock, of Spokane; and one brother, Ed Snider, of Bremerton; and three grandchildren.
Rosary was said Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm from the Barnes Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at 10 am from Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Clifford Hulings celebrant. Committal services and interment followed in the Brewster Cemetery.
Services are under direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
