Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Price's Creek Baptist Church, Yancey County, for Mrs. Myrtle Gertrude Metcalf, 78, of 159 Park Avenue, who died Tuesday.
The Revs. Weldon Johnson and Ray Billings will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers.
Mrs. Metcalf, a native of Yancey County, was the widow of Zebulon Metcalf.
Surviving are a son, Lee Roy Metcalf of Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Donnie Farlow and Mrs. Fred Wilson of Asheville; the stepmother, Mrs. Eva Scott of Arkansas; four half-brothers, John, Ralph, Jack and Mack Scott of Arkansas; six half-sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Allen of Burnsville, Mrs. Jesse Johnson of Newland, and Misses Georgia, Ruby, Orin and Irene Scott of Arkansas; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Berryman-Hall Funeral Home.
