Jessie M. Alther, 83, of Middletown, entered into rest on Wednesday, September, 9, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
She was born on May 21, 1926 in Hopewell, PA. and was the daughter of the late Marshall and Stella Meck Bivens.
She was a former clerk at Saturday's Market formerly Big M., Middletown and was of the protestant faith.
Jessie had a kind and loving heart. Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for each of them. Her love and spirit will live on through them. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene D. Alther; son Terry, husband of Dianne L. Alther of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Sharon J., wife of Gary Barnett of Three Springs and Linda E., wife of Ron Goetz of Mercersburg; brother, William Bivens of Salem, Ala.; two sisters, Shirley Alberts of Virginia Beach, Va. and Jackie Ramper of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
A Tribute to her life was held Tuesday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Middletown, with the Rev. John Reitz officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Hillsdale Cemetery.
