The funeral for William Thomas Owsley, 89, of Opelika will be Sunday, June 24, 1984, at Frederick's Chapel with burial in Garden Hills Cemetery. The Rev. Harmon King will officiate.
Mr. Owsley was born in Chambers County on Aug. 12, 1894. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, a retired textile worker. He died at the Opelika Nursing Home Saturday, June 23.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Richard Chambley [Essie Eugenia], Mrs. E. B. Evans [Dorothy Cleo], Mrs. John Taylor [Gloria], all of Opelika, and Mrs. Carl Downing [Ann], Birmingham; three sons, Lucius O. (Bud) Owsley, Coppers Cove, Texas, William W. Owsley, Phenix City, and Franklin Owsley, Opelika; 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Frederick's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
