Services for Ruth A. Fickle, 92, of 530
Henry SI, will be held at 10 a.m Saturday
in Fisher Funeral Chapel. She died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 18,2003, in her residence. Born Sept 21, 1910, in Chalmers, she was the daughter of Edward Elmore and
India Mills Carr. She was married on July
16,1943, in Logansport, to "Harry Shannon
Fickle, who died in March 1955.
A 1928 graduate of Reynolds School,
Mrs. Fickle was the last surviving Spanish-
American War veteran's, wife.
She was retired, from the Logansport
State Hospital, where she had been em-
ployed in Dietary.
She was a member of Wheatland Av-
enue United Methodist Church, where she
was a past secretary of the Ruth Circle.
She also had taught Sunday School and
Bible School there.
Mrs. Fickle was a member of the Cass
County Homemakers Association.
Surviving are one son, Robert Shannon
Fickle, Logansport; two daughters, Shelly
Carling-Kelly, Cleveland, Ohio, and There-
enue United Methodist Church, where she
was a past secretary of the Ruth Circle.
She also had taught Sunday School and
Bible School there.
Mrs. Fickle was a member of the Cass
County Homemakers Association.
Surviving are one son, Robert Shannon Fickle, Logansport; two daughters, Shelly Carling-Kelly, Cleveland, Ohio, and Theresa India Cunningham, Logansport; six grandsons, Joseph Fickle, Lafayette, Wilson Fickle, Logansport, Robert C. Fickle,Rochester, Christopher LoCoco, Alomogordo, N.M, Kevin LoCoco, Logansport, and Edward Zimmerman, Logansport; one
granddaughter, Renee Schvvering, Logansport; and six great-grandchildren, Austin Carr Fickle, Rochester, Hayden Patrick
Fickle, Rochester, K'Leigh Eileen LoCoco, Alomogordo, N.M., Kaden Lee LoCoco, Alomogordo, N.M., Blake Andrew Zimmerman, Logansport, and MacKenna Alexis Zimmerman, Logansport.
One son, Wilson Carr Fickle, and two brothers, Theodore Edward Carr and Robert Elmore Carr, preceded in death.
The Rev. Don Ruhl will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery, Galveston. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Soldiers Home, West
Lafayette.
