Joseph Kinney passed away in the hospital in Iowa City on September 28, 1927. The deceased was born on Mary 10, 1866 in Fillmore, Minnesota. He lived on a farm in Burr Oak township until 1895, then he moved to Bluffton where he lived until the time of his death. He is a member of the Methodist Church. Joseph leaves to mourn his loss one brother and six sisters. They are Willis Kinney of LaCrosse, Mrs. May Dow of California, Mrs. Susanna Dow of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Marcy of Decorah, and Mrs. Emery.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, of Burr Oak, on Monday, September 30, 1927. Interment was at 2 PM in the Burr Oak Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. N. Wicks. Joseph was interred with his mother and father.
