Coy Lee Amon went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2009, in Lufkin, after a long illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church in Corsicana.
Mr. Amon was a longtime resident of Corsicana but had lived the last several years in Lufkin, where he passed away.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Tilda Amon; his father, Ely Coy Amon; brother, Lonnie Amon; son, Walter Amon; and granddaughter, Mandy Parker.
He is survived by one son, and Dennis Lee Amon and wife Charlotte of Saginaw; two daughters, Marie Ann Southworth and husband Larry of Dallas, and Shela Jean Plaster of Colorado; four grandsons, Steven Amon, Eric Parker, David Mallewick and Chris Mallewick; two granddaughters, Amy Parker and Loni Amon; a number of great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Faye McGilvra; one nephew and two nieces.
