Adolph Francis Zamorski, 87, of Salem, Va., passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. He was born on June 17, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Anthony and Sophia Baran Zamorski. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Zamorski; and sisters, Angeline Sczenterwoicz, Stella Zamorski and Helen Zamorski. Mr. Zamorski was a retired carpenter from C.W. Morris Construction, a United States Army World War II Combat Veteran and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Salem. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Alice Ayers Zamorski; sons, William "Tony" Zamorski, David Zamorski and wife, Debby, and Joseph "Joey" Zamorski and wife, Robyn; daughters, Margaret Rhodes, and Kathy Spencer and husband, Mike; brothers, John Zamorski and wife, Pat, and Chester Zamorski; sister, Frances Becowicz; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the VVCC and staff for their loving care during Mr. Zamorski's illness. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009, at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with the Rev. Dr. Eric Surat officiating. Interment will follow at East Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem, Va., 540-389-5441.
